Market: Las Palmas double chance
Odds: 4/5 @
Looking to make another La Liga statement on Saturday evening, a high-flying Las Palmas will travel to the El Sadar when they meet Osasuna.
Starting with the hosts, while Osasuna might have opened up the 2023/24 campaign with their sights set on snatching what would be a famous European finish, Los Rojillos find themselves in the midst of a public struggle. Last seen putting in another nightmare performance as they eventually fell to an action-packed 4-2 loss at home against Girona, Jagoba Arrasate’s side have come tumbling out the top-half of the La Liga standings. Losing three of their last four appearances, fans around El Sadar will be hugely concerned by their side’s rather glaring defensive issues. Including a 4-0 drumming at the hands of Real Madrid last month, Osasuna have shipped 10 strikes in just their previous four La Liga showdowns. Likewise, facing what could be another tough challenge here, Arrasate will also have a major headache over his side’s continued problems on home soil. In fact, Los Rojillos have claimed just a single win from their first seven contests at the El Sadar this season.
As for the visitors, while Las Palmas might have only made their La Liga return this season, the Yellows are enjoying a history-making flurry. Last seen putting in a famous performance at the Estadio Gran Canaria as they secured a 2-1 victory against Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, Garcia Pimienta’s side have continued to gain a string of plaudits. Extending on their Copa del Rey adventure on October 31st as they secured a routine 3-0 romp away at lower-league Manacor, Los Amarillos will be confident of making another statement here. Skyrocketing their way into the top-half and remarkably sat just three points adrift of breaking into the European spots, Las Palmas have won five of their last six appearances across all formats. With their stellar purple patch highlighted by a 2-1 win away at Villarreal on October 8th, Saturday’s guests have also won each of their previous three away fixtures by an aggregate score of 7-2. Given the huge recent gulf in class, we are backing an away double chance here.
